Registered Pharmacist (RPh, PharmD)

Registered Pharmacist (RPh, PharmD) - works in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote safe and effective drug therapy. Pharmacists are involved in the procurement, distribution, surveillance, and control of all drugs used within the institution. They assess, plan, and monitor patients' drug therapies to ensure education to medical staff, students and patients. They play a vital role in performance improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes.

Length of Training:   6 years
Education or Training Requirement:   Bachelor's Degree or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
Requirements for Certification, Registration or Licensure:   Certification Exam & License
Earning Potential*:   $70,000 to $85,000
Where They Work:   Hospitals, public health clinics, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, home-healthcare agencies, retail and mail-order pharmacies, pharmaceutical wholesalers.
